I shot the winning boat for the Channel Islands Parade of Lights in Oxnard. The image will most likely be used in print ads and a billboard.

The boat owners were lovely people, and patient. I wanted to photograph their boat at the magic moment when there is still blue in the sky and enough ambient light to show the boat, but it is dark enough for the decorative lights to register.

That meant moving 40 yards off the dock and remaining in one position. Which they did for about 20 minutes.

As I was leaving, I turned back and noticed the lovely harbor shot below.
