The Ventura County Medical Center has commenced a $300 million project (see the post below).
That will require a new power plant for the hospital. But the old one is such a classic, I wanted to capture its industrial beauty before it’s gone.
Here is Mike Ponce, the man in charge, manager of the power plant that went into service in 1953.
And here is a view of the gauge panel, all brassy and buffed. No doubt the new power plant will be more efficient and have computerized controls, but I doubt it will be something that catches a photographer’s eye.
