Last week, the Ventura County Healthcare Agency broke ground on a new hospital building that will replace much of VCMC — the Ventura County Medical Center.
A few hundred guests were on hand for the speeches and the ceremonial shoveling of the soil.
I was hired to photograph the event. The challenge with the “money shot” was how to get 16 people into the frame, especially since I was no more than ten feet away from the row.
My solution was to use all the tools a shooter has today, and that includes the latest versions of Photoshop.
The image you see is comprised of three photographs taken in rapid succession and stitched together in PS. I swapped faces from some alternate frames to fix funny expressions or closed eyes. It turned out to be quite dramatic.
